For the past 19 months the state has been working with Public Safety Addressing Points (PSAPs) all over Idaho to try and get the 5 datasets required for Next Generation 911 ready for implementation. Learn about NG9-1-1, why GIS plays such a crucial role in this 911 call-routing system, and the efforts of the State to advance those state-wide GIS data layers. GIS datasets require very specific standards that need to be met for interacting with NG9-1-1 equipment, and to ensure correct call routing. Learn more about the development and adoption of those standards.
